Embracing our Emotions Through Breathwork
We might attempt to control or micromanage situations or linger in unhealthy relationships, all in a bid to disengage from our feelings. However, this emotional avoidance often leads to one painful consequence: we emotionally abandon ourselves.
Whenever you experience feelings that are upsetting or uncomfortable, it's likely a sign of a "triggered" memory. This indicates that you’re not genuinely living in the moment; rather, you are revisiting echoes from your past—moments from your childhood or even earlier experiences.
This is why we can find ourselves reacting so strongly, feeling upset, or blaming others for how we feel. These reactions stem from our reluctance to fully embrace our Emotional Body and the feelings that arise. We resist the integration of these emotions, which ultimately perpetuates our inner turmoil.
The practice of deep Breathwork in a safe setting allows our psyche to reconnect with the deeper layers of our memories and experiences that we cannot access in waking consciousness and our daily life. This is transformative, as the expanded states we can access through this practice have a lasting effect, enabling us to go straight to the root causes of our triggers.
Our subconscious sends us messengers—those uncomfortable feelings—urging us to welcome them and integrate them into our emotional landscape. This is a pivotal step toward achieving wholeness and a deeper understanding of ourselves. Repetitive Breathwork practice is one of the most effective and transformative practices you can invite into your life.
It's essential to recognize that we cannot simply change, "fix," or run from an emotion, as they are intrinsically linked to our memories. We don’t need to "heal" heavy emotions; doing so implies that something is wrong with us. Instead, we must learn to acknowledge and sit with these emotions, affirming, “I am completely here with you now.” This is the beginning of our INTEGRATION process.
Fortunately, there are conscious steps we can take to integrate painful emotions and soften their sharp edges. This journey empowers us to stop abandoning ourselves, delve deeper into self-discovery, and ultimately become the authentic, radiant individuals we've always aspired to be.
By learning to listen to the real-time reflections—our “triggers”—from our past experiences, we can navigate them more effectively. This approach can help minimize the need for excessive time and money spent on various therapies while still struggling with anxiety and fear.
